Tomasz Hen-Konarski is a native of Łódź, Poland. He earned his magister degree in history at the University of Warsaw. In March 2017 he defended his doctoral dissertation "Cossacks and gauchos: myths of masculinity in the political struggles of the River Plate and Ukraine, 1830s through 1840s" at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. His research deals with the polemical uses of political symbols and myths from the 1760s through the 1860s. His main focus is on Poland and Ukraine, while his secondary field of expertise is Argentina. He published in "Acta Poloniae Historica," "European History Quarterly" and "Polityka."
